Robot

We have been using robots and using code to get them to move. They are fun to play with. We had a lot of fun with Dash. Dash can walk and dance. I wrote a poem about Dash.

Zoom! Zoom!

Fast like a cheetah looking for small animals. Zoom! Around the roundabout. "Beep! Beep!" he said. Hello Beep! He goes around big buildings, rolling around in colourful flowers. He likes blue and he is funny.

Vaseline Saucers - Pet Day

Yesterday we made Vaseline Saucers with flowers. The people that brought the  flowers got to choose the flowers first. Then Mrs Clarke took a photo of us with our Vaseline Saucers. We put them on the table. I came fourth for the Vaseline Saucers.

Garden to Table

Today we planted Little Gardens and we planted sweet corn and bean seeds into pots.  Last week we baked herb scones and then we put them into the oven. Today they baked flat bread and Pumpkin Dip and Carrot muffins and made 2 dips.

Hot Air Balloon Art

For art we created Hot Air Balloons. We used pastel for the background. We used dye and black PVA glue for the balloon. We weaved the basket. My favourite part was doing the dye.

Maths strategy

Skittles Experience

We have been learning to use better sentence starters and write juicy sentences. Here is my writing on our Skittles experience. We used a bag of Skittles and poured water over them in the plate and we watched what happened.

Collaborative Bird wings

We made some collaborative bird wings. We each made feathers to put together to make the wings.
1. We made calk patterns on the feathers.
2. We used white crayon over the calk.
3.  We used dye to colour the feather,we chose complimentary colours.

Measurement

For maths we have been learning about measurement. So I have created a DLO (digital learning object). I created one to explain finding perimeter. Here is a video I made.

Our kite

We made our kite with cardboard and sticks. Then we flew the kites outside.

Dr Seuss Day

Today at school it was Dr Seuss day. We chose a Dr Seuss quote and illustrated it.

Science Fair

We have been learning to complete Science Investigations. We learnt about the Scientific Method. We will share our learning at our school Science Fair today at Ohaeawai School.

Fractions

We have been leaning about fractions in maths. A fraction is when you split a shape into equal parts such as split your shape in half. A fraction can also be part of a number.

Paper spinner

We made paper spinners for maths. We had to use our fraction and shape knowledge to help us fold our spinner. We decorated our spinner with patterns and colours. We battled our spinner with a friend. My spinner is pretty when it spins.

For reading we read the big book called crazy critters cooking convention. We used alliteration for our sentences.

Trip to Auckland

Broom broom! We finally arrived at Auckland. Aaron, Bex and Stan went to Australia . We had fun at Tresa’s and Poppa’s in Auckland. We had pizza for dinner.  We saw the Sky Tower. The sky tower was so tall and big.  We saw lots of big buildings. We drove over the bridge and we saw the water.

Mum and I went to Aunties house and we watched Moana. We munched on popcorn and wraps. I liked the movie and had lots of fun.

In the beginning

We read In the beginning. The kid's pushed their parents away from each other. The gods were free.

School Triathlon

Wahooo! On triathlon day we had to swim in the cold and deep pool.  We had to do 2 lengths of the pool. I was freezing when I got out of the cold pool. Then we had to get our helmets and ride on the bikes. We had to ride the bikes around the field. We had to ride down Mrs Lawrence’s driveway. When we get to the big rock I got off my bike.
