Reading

Vaseline Saucers

 A few weeks ago we  made Vaseline saucers for pet day. We used flowers  and Vaseline to make our  flowers to sick to the Vaseline saucer and we used pretty flowers. I like my saucer because I used pretty flowers to make it look pretty.  I did well because I make my Vaseline saucers look good and made it looked like the pretty sun. Christmas tree Poem

In Team Awa, we have been  sketching Christmas trees. We got a piece of paper and sketched our Christmas tree. Then we put some words about Christmas around our Christmas tree . We made a poem for our Christmas tree on our chrome-book then we printed out our work. We cut out our Christmas tree and glued it on our poem. We put it in our folder with all our other work. Art Term 4

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work. We looked at
the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture.
The words become the shape of the picture.

One thing I did well was doing straight lines on my buildings.

Some things I could improve on are the background for the Kadinsky art by starting the cold colours at the top. For my Maori art I need to work on spelling the Maori words right and writing them smaller to give it more effect.

Handwriting Term 4

We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.

I am good at forming my letters correctly.

I need to get better at putting my letters on the line.

Greats and Grands Day

Basic Facts Test Term 3

Here is my Basic Facts Test for Stage 4 for the end of Term 3. I got 40 out of 60. I'm good at tens that add to 100, addition facts to 10, subtraction facts to 10 and doubles/half to 20. I need to work on groupings of 10 and groupings of 10 & 20.

Yummy Soup

Ingredients

1 bags of Chocolate

1 bag of Marshmallows

1 bags of Lollies

1 bag of Treats

Equipment

Bowl

Spoon

Fire place

Method

1. Get the bowl and spoon then get the 10 pieces of chocolate. Put it in the bowl and melt it on the fife place. Mix them until they’re done.
2. Get the bag of marshmallows and put 20 marshmallows into the bowl. Mix them with a spoon until they make lumps with the chocolate.
3. Put 5 lollies into the bowl and mix them with a spoon  until they’re all melted.
4. Get the treats and put them all in the bowl and mix them with a spoon until they’re all melted.
5. Then mix them all together with a spoon until it is all together like soup.
6. Next you can put it in another bowl and get another spoon.
7. Then you can eat it.
8. Then your done

Coding

Today Tania came to tech us about coding and how to use coding languages. We have  done a gingerbread man coding map. Here is my awesome gingerbread man coding map from today...
Some words I have learnt.
I am using computational thinking to code my gingerbread man or girl.  If I have a mistake in my programme it is called a bug and I need to debug my programme.

Father's Day

On Sunday it is Father's Day and I am making a father's Day care for my dad and my dad is going to like it .

We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.I am good at making my letters the right height .I need to get better at making my letters neat and tidy.

Self Portarit Art Blog

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.

l like Garden to table because we can cook yummy food. I like the garden because we can feed the plants and plant them.
